My pedagogical approach reflects a wide spectrum of influences. First is the training that I received as a student; from Gerald Christensen, Kenneth Fiske, Alice Schoenfeld, and Donald Ambrosen. Second is the influence of attending many Suzuki teacher training sessions - with Shinichi Suzuki, John Kendall, Yuko Mori, Anastasia Jempelis, Susan Kempter, Linda Case, and many others. Also workshops with Dorothy Delay and Mimi Zweig. A great blessing has been the many discussions and shared teaching among a group of colleagues that I have known for many years: Margaret Shimizu, Gail Acosta, Richard Schwabe, Sharon Holland, Idell Low, and Sandi Rynerson. My studies for a certificate in Kodaly at Holy Names College and becoming a Music Together Center Director have given additional insights into the development of musical ability and achievement.
