Home Supplies Parent Guidlines Tuition Plan

Students in the Conservatory take one private lesson each week. Beginning students usually start with a 30 minute lesson, then move up to a 45 and then 60 minute lesson as they advance. In addition to the private lesson, students attend Saturday workshops where they practice with other students at their level. The schedule of these workshops is on the Date Sheet. Students perform in two major solo recitals and one ensemble concert (called the Annual Concert on the Date Sheet) each year.  We will also play at the Lutheran Home in December and present a Christmas Concert.

My favorite age to start a new student is at five years. Prior to that it would be wonderful to be in our early childhood program - Music Together. Parents attend all lessons with the beginning student and also learn the beginning stages of playing the violin or cello. Parents are responsible for supervising the home practice while the student is in the early stages.

The first step in investigating this program is to come and observe a lesson or group class. Give me a call at 686-2824 and we'll set up a time.

The second step is a parent orientation meeting where we cover our philosophy and practical matters such as how you acquire an instrument.

Then you can think about the commitment that it takes and the joy that it brings and decide if you want to join us.
